The Story Behind Nicola Davis Crafts…

I am a self-taught artist from Wiltshire and began specialising in the bright and bold art of silk painting in 2014, when I was 17.

Since then, I have won multiple Young Entrepreneur awards, sold my work to customers in over 30 countries, appeared on Channel 4’s ‘Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas’ and had my scarves appear in episodes of Emmerdale and The Walking Dead.

My products include silk scarves, silk paintings, prints, cards, and silk painting kits. My designs reflect positivity and happiness and I hope to inspire joy in others, often using a bright palette of colours and motivational words. Many of my paintings celebrate natural beauty, such as flowers, landscapes and the female form.

I also teach silk painting workshops in Wiltshire and the surrounding areas to groups of all ages and abilities, including Beavers and Scout groups, Teachers, Home Educated Students, Women’s Institutes and individuals.

In my spare time I raise money for Beat, the UK’s leading Eating Disorder charity, having beaten anorexia myself.
In January 2016 I launched My Super Sweet Recovery Cookbook, a recipe book aimed at those affected by eating disorders.
10% of all profits from the book are donated to Beat.

Finally I manage Corsham Creative Market, a monthly craft fair in the historic town of Corsham, Wiltshire.
